The program is introduced in Pakistan, keeping in view the need of healthcare institutes in the Pathology Department. This course will provide and enable students to cope with the rapid advancement in the field of Laboratory Technology.
The department was established under the umbrella of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) with the vision to promote innovations and appropriate use of techniques for promoting Public Health Care. This department has the honor to introduce the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) program.
Our BMLS program is known and appreciated nationally for its excellent educational standards and extensive practical experience. In our graduate and postgraduate programs, students are trained to examine all data and results critically and to remain alert for potential technical errors. They are also encouraged to participate in the on-going basic research programs in the departmental labs and to publish them in different local and international scientific journals.
To begin the transition to the “real world”, they undergo training in the UIMLT Basic Skill Laboratories and central pathological Laboratories at the affiliated hospitals of the University of Lahore. There, they learn to handle and deal with the specimen, bio-safety management and develop an understanding of the principles, necessary skills and professionalism.
